Steven started working with Mission West Virginia as a program assistant for our Step Up and Appalachian Sharing programs. He did such a good job we promoted him to coordinate our WV Technology Academy program. Steven’s a hard worker that truly enjoys working with small business owners throughout the state. When asked about his job Steven simply replied: “It’s fascinating for me to work with small business owners. They’re smart, dedicated, and I’ve found them very open to learning new ways technology can impact their business.”
Before coming to work for Mission West Virginia Steven was a Peace Corps Volunteer. He served in Ukraine on a USAID funded project called the Ukrainian Land Titling Initiative. “I worked in a legal aid office and assisted in privatizing former agricultural enterprises in rural parts of northwest Ukraine. It was an amazing experience I would do again in a heartbeat.” Steven speaks Russian on an advanced level, and says his Ukrainian “isn’t bad.” Steven holds a Masters in Business Administration from Marshall University and is in the process of completing a second Master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
