2017 SMART529 Smart Start Award

Funding the Future for Children Adopted from Foster Care in West Virginia

FrameWorks and the WV State Treasurer's office has partnered to raise funds to benefit children who have been adopted from foster care in West Virginia. This program gives families an opportunity to save and invest in your child's education with a jump-start through the SMART529 College Savings Plan Award. 

Important dates: 

·        Applications are due September 29, 2017 (Application period: August 1-September 29, 2017)

·        Recipients will be notified by October 16, 2017

·        Award presentation will be November 6, 2017

Eligibility:

·        Child must be a resident of West Virginia

·        Child must be age 12 or younger as of September 29, 2017

·        Child must be adopted from the West Virginia foster care system with finalized adoption at              time of application

·        A child who has received this award in the past is not eligible to receive it again

·        A child who applied in the past and did not receive the award is eligible to apply again

·        A child who has not received the award, but his/her siblings received the award in the past is              eligible if he/she meets the other requirements

·        Parents/guardians must agree to Official Contest Rules as stated in this application
