You Don’t Have to be Perfect to be Amazing

You may have heard the quote: "The Japanese say you have three faces. The first face you show to the world. The second face, you show to your close friends and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. It is the truest reflection of who you are." Each of your three faces represents a different way you interact with the world.  Who we are around and how comfortable we feel determines which face we show.

Most of us show the first face on our social media accounts. We may not share our troubles, or we only share certain problems we face. We want people to think we are happy, so we show the happy parts of our life. We all have at least one person we follow on social media that seems to have it all - we may even wonder if they ever have a bad day. When looking at someone's social media, it's important to remember that they are only sharing what they want others to see. Just because they do not post about their problems does not mean they never have issues. When we see these perfect seeming lives, we may feel the pressure to have a 'perfect life.'

You do not have to have a 'perfect life' to do remarkable things. Everyone is facing problems that they do not share with others. People tend to grow when they are faced with adversity. So, when facing your issues, see it as an opportunity for growth on a personal level. When you overcome a problem, it is a victory, whether you share it with the world or not. It is important to remember not to compare details of your life to the small details of another person's life that they allow you to see.
